Multiscale Spatio-Temporal Visualization

Processes across different scales are often described by separate physical laws of distinct character. Interesting physical processes often involve interactions across several such spatio-temporal scales. Understanding these physical processes thus requires scientists to isolate and attend to interesting phenomenon at multiple spatio-temporal scales simultaneously, so they can understand the interaction between physical laws at different scales. From a data standpoint there exists multiple frameworks for analyzing information at multiple scales (fourier analysis, wavelets, scale space theory, etc.). In this project, we investigate the problem of visualizing information across multiple scales from a data-perceptual point of view.
