Servier Virtual Cardiac Centre is a multidisciplinary research lab dedicated to improving:
- heart imaging from mutimodal sensors
- developing new 3D heart visualization techniques
- understanding how doctors and patients can gain from better heart imaging
- developing advanced simulation technologies capable of predicting surgical and interventional outcomes
We are sponsored by a grant from Servier Canada.
We are a multidisciplinary environment, allowing cardiac surgeons, cardiologists, radiologists, engineers, computing scientists, and mathematicians to collaborate together.
Comparative images of a patient’s abnormal blood vessels, the picture on the left is from an angiogram and the picture on the right is a 3D solid model we made from a CT scan. Our surgeons found the solid model easier to understand because they could pick it up and touch it.
