The IBM Alberta CAS Innovation Eco-system facilitates research projects in numerous disciplines with a focus on areas of Health and Bio-informatics, Sustainable Natural Resource Development, Environmental Stewardship and Advancing the Digital Economy. Projects include a variety of technological underpinnings including artificial intelligence (AI), high performance computing (HPC), sensor networks, visualization, analytics, big data and cloud computing. Since its inception, IBM Alberta CAS has contributed millions of dollars in cash and in-kind resources as well as attracted millions more to the province, and continues to make a positive impact on research, skills and economic development in Alberta.
