The IBM Alberta Centre for Advanced Studies is pleased to host the following lunch and learn session: Storage Trends and Directions

Abstract

Please join us on Thursday, Nov. 26th at Noon as IBM Consulting Storage Architect Hadi Kilani will be presenting on IBM’s viewpoint on the Trends & Directions in the storage industry.  With the continued exponential growth in data creation, new and innovative techniques are required to keep pace.

Hadi will share IBM’s vision on the evolving role of storage:
  • Flash & Solid State Drives vs. Virtual Tape Libraries vs. Physical Tape
  • Storage strategies such as Software Defined Storage and Hybrid Cloud
  • Data Footprint Reduction using Real-Time Compression, Thin Provisioning and Data Deduplication.
  • Data Analytics and Content Management
Each topic focuses on Business Continuity and utilizing architectures designed for non-disruptive addition of performance and capacity.

 

Bio

Hadi Kilani has over twenty years of experience as an IT Specialist since joining IBM in Edmonton.  Hadi has worked directly with customers in various server and storage related roles.  Hadi has extensive understanding of storage related industry trends and emerging technologies. He currently provides Storage Hardware and Software technical sales, support and competitive responsibility for Alberta as part of the Systems Group organization.
