Interesting physical processes\u00a0often involve interactions across several such spatio-temporal scales.\u00a0Understanding these physical processes thus requires scientists to\u00a0isolate and attend to interesting phenomenon at multiple\u00a0spatio-temporal scales simultaneously, so they can understand the\u00a0interaction between physical laws at different scales. From a data\u00a0standpoint there exists multiple frameworks for analyzing information\u00a0at multiple scales (fourier analysis, wavelets, scale space theory,\u00a0etc.).
