We have some exciting events coming up at the Shack this month! We hope to see you there!
February 13 - Plot Clock Workshop
Join us at the Shack on Monday February 13th from 6:30-8:30pm and make a plot clock! These clocks write out the time with a dry erase marker and then erase it, using Raspberry Pi programming.
It's free to attend, and all levels of experience are welcome!
February 16 - 3D Modelling Workshop
Have a special gadget you want to design in 3D? Thursday, February 16th from 4:00-5:00pm, come on out and learn how to model 3D objects in this workshop on the basics of Autodesk Inventor and its uses! If you can, it is encouraged that you bring your own laptop with Inventor already installed, as computers at the Shack will be on a first come, first serve basis. As a U of A student you can download Autodesk Inventor for free from http://ualberta.onthehub.com/. If you are able to make it, please RSVP to our email, and state whether you are coming with your own laptop or if you will require one.
February 23 - Shack Day
The Shack will be open from 9:00-4:00pm on Thursday February 23rd (during reading week) for training sessions throughout the day. This is the perfect opportunity to learn how to use the printers and become familiar with Raspberry Pi and Arduinos, as well as get advice on any projects you've been thinking about starting!
If you would like ongoing training, feel free to email us!
This past Tuesday (January 31st) we had a great time at our women and non-binary "thirsty flamingo" night making these awesome flamingo soil moisture monitors. Here's a picture of a few of the people who attended the workshop, as well as the final product!
