Canadian Association of Physicists – CUPC 2018 Travel Grants:
The applications for travel grants is now open! This travel grant was made possible by the generous contributions from the Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP).
The deadline for the first round of grant applications is July 11th, with recipients contacted by July 15th. Grant applications received from July 11th to August 1st will be considered in the second round of allocations, with recipients notified on August 5th.
The amount of the award will take into account the distance you are travelling from Edmonton, Alberta. All applicants must be affiliated with a Canadian institution.

Information about the travel grants:
The application should consist of a letter from the applicant’s affiliated institution indicating the level of financial support. The letter must be signed by a faculty member at the applicant’s institution.
First round of recipients will be contacted July 15th, and the second round of recipients will be contacted August 5th. Recipients of travel grants will be asked to provide travel related receipts on a separate form. Please keep a detailed copy of the receipts which include a breakdown of the costs.
The travel grants will cover up to $600.00 CAD of the costs related to travel and total registration fees.
The Canadian Institute of Nuclear Physics:
The Canadian Institute of Nuclear Physics (CINP) is making available four student travel awards to the Canadian Undergraduate Physics Conference (CUPC).
Each award will be for up to $500.00 towards student travel expenses. Faculty or associate level CINP members who are supervising an undergraduate enrolled at a Canadian university on a nuclear physics research topic are asked to apply for the travel award on behalf of their student.
The application package should consist of:
– copy of the student’s submitted abstract to the CUPC.
– 2 page CV including the student’s research experience, physics grades from the most recent 2 years of study, and career goals.
PDF format is preferred for the abstract and CV.
The conference registration deadline is Monday, July 16. The CINP support application deadline is noon (MDT) Saturday, July 14.
While the grant will be awarded before the conference to facilitate travel, the payment will be released only after submitting original receipts following the end of the conference. Examples of eligible expenses are: conference registration fees, flight tickets with original boarding passes, taxi/bus fares, gas and mileage, hotel accommodation, meals.
